Louise came to Tobwabba in 1992. She enjoyed art at High School, and was interested in the opportunity to develop her art skills as soon as she heard about the Aboriginal art and culture course which was being run.
As she developed her skills, Louise discovered that she prefers to work in the earthy colours which are associated with traditional Aboriginal artwork. She also much prefers to work on paintings rather than designs.
At the moment she is enjoying the silk painting which the artists at Tobwabba are experimenting with. Louise spent some time teaching Aboriginal art to children at Forster Primary School, which she enjoyed. Louise says that this kind of work, along with training other Aboriginal communities, is the kind of thing she would like to see Tobwabba Art doing in the future.
Louise intends to stay with Tobwabba. She would like to see Tobwabba successfully expand and sell more paintings overseas.
