Brett was raised in Karuah and moved to Forster after marrying. He became aware of Tobwabba through friends who suggested he should have a look.
Brett had been working in the building trade, as well as painting, and wanted to become involved with other Aboriginal artists.
"The atmosphere of an Aboriginal workplace is great".
With the opportunity to become involved in woodwork, he felt it was a place in which he could see a future for himself. Brett has become involved in his work and hopes to see Tobwabba enlarge and become more recognisable overseas.
"Aboriginal people share their culture and believe that it is the way to bring understanding between the races, and this is what Tobwabba is all about".
