Faye

Faye Pattison

Faye is a senior woman in the Forster Aboriginal community. She has an extensive knowledge of local history. She was born in Forster and attended the mission school which was then in existence. Before she joined Tobwabba Faye was doing a CABE course at TAFE. She began at Tobwabba when Tobwabba became part of the Forster Local Aboriginal Lands Council's CDEP scheme in April 1993. Faye has not been much involved with the design side of Tobwabba's activities as she is still working on the finer points of her art. She prefers to paint Australian native animals in the more traditional Aboriginal colours. Faye has enjoyed working at Tobwabba. "Its relaxing. Like fishing or bingo, its something to do and relaxing. When you've got something to do you feel better about yourself." Faye believes that working at Tobwabba has given a lot of new confidence to all of the artists involved.
